These release notes provide information about the syslog-ng Store Box release.
Welcome to syslog-ng Store Box. This document describes what is new in the latest version of syslog-ng Store Box (SSB).
This is a Feature Release, which means that it will be supported for 6 months after the original publication date and for 2 months after a succeeding Feature or LTS Release is published (whichever date is later). Note that only the last of the feature releases is supported - for example, when a new feature release comes out, the last one becomes unsupported.
For a full description on stable and feature releases, open the SSB product page on the Support Portal and navigate to Product Life Cycle & Policies > Product Support Policies > Software Product Support Lifecycle Policy.
New features in SSB 6.3.0:
To make the web interface more consistent and logical, some elements of the Basic Settings menu have been restructured. The settings related to alerting and monitoring now have their own submenu (Basic Settings > Alerting and Basic Settings > Monitoring). Elements of the Basic Settings > Management page that are related to alerting and monitoring have been moved to the respective submenus.
For details, see "SNMP and e-mail alerts" in the Administration Guide, and "Monitoring SSB" in the Administration Guide.
When using a high-availability SSB cluster, synchronizing the system time is now more frequent and reliable to ensure that the timestamps of the incoming log messages is accurate even when a failover occurs between the cluster nodes.
When accessing the secondary node of the cluster from a local or remote console, the console menu is automatically displayed to help network troubleshooting.
For establishing a connection with the web UI, SSB now uses OpenSSL version 1.1.1.
