Resolution
1. What is the iDRAC / DRAC?
The Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller is an out-of-band management card shipped on all TPAM Dell appliances.
2. Is the DRAC required for TPAM?
The intention of the DRAC is for remote power operations, and to view the TPAM Kiosk where physical access may be problematic. The DRAC is provided on all TPAM hardware as a customer convenience, its usage is optional, and has no impact TPAM.
3. Does One Identity provide setup / configuration documentation?
No, setup documentation and a video are available from Dell:
4. Does One Identity provide support for the DRAC?One Identity provide hardware support only for the DRAC (I.e. if the DRAC fails, and the TPAM device has maintenance we will RMA the TPAM appliance.)
5. Can the firmware of the DRAC be upgraded on TPAM devices?It is not supported or advisable. Due to security in place on TPAM devices updating the firmware can cause devices to become unbootable. More information can be found here

Yes, the DRAC can be soft restarted without powering down the server. Press and hold down the System identification "i" button on the device for more than 15 seconds.

Yes, to reset the settings:
1. Reboot the server and press during the Power-on Self-test (POST).2. In the System Setup Main Menu page, click iDRAC Settings.3. Click "Reset iDRAC configurations to defaults"4. Click Yes to confirm, and then click Back.5. Click Finish.6. The reset is now complete. Please configure the DRAC as per the normal procedure setting the IP address etc.

9. If the root password has been lost can it be reset?To reset the root password:
1. Reboot the server and press F2 during the Power-on Self-test (POST). (View the prompts on screen)2. In the System Setup Main Menu page, click iDRAC Settings.3. Click "User Configuration".4. In the Change Password fieldfor user root, enter the new password.5. Click Back, click Finish, and then click Yes. The details are saved.

12. Our scanning software identify a vulnerability on the DRAC network IP
We are unable to comment on Dell DRAC security concerns. If you have any concerns, the DRAC can be disconnected from the network - this will not impact TPAM. Alternatively, configure the DRAC on its own protected isolated network.
