1. How much space does one minute of session recording take approximatey?
2. Is there a way to reduce session logging size per minute by reducing the color depth of RDP session, etc?
3. Can the session limit be enforced? At this point sessions seem to bypass the 2 hour limit imposed.
4. When the session limit is reached and session is terminated, does RDP session on the host remain alive? Can it be rejoined?
5. How can it be determined how much space is being taken by a particular session?
6. What kind of storage server (Windows/Linux (syslog) is required?
1. How much space does one minute of session recording take approximatey?
A. The size of the session is a reflection of the activity captured during the session, therefore we cannot provide an approximate answer for this question. A 2 hour session that is idle will be smaller than an intensive 30 minute session.
2. Is there a way to reduce session logging size per minute by reducing the color depth of RDP session, etc?
A. Color depth and applet resolution both effect the size of the recorded file.
3. Can the session limit be enforced? At this point sessions seem to bypass the 2 hour limit imposed.
A. This may be due to configuration - can you provide a screenshot of your settings? Does this occur for all EGP sessions?
4. When the session limit is reached and session is terminated, does RDP session on the host remain alive? Can it be rejoined?
A. If the EGP session time limit is reached the session cannot be rejoined. But again, it depends on your configuration.
5. How can it be determined how much space is being taken by a particular session?
A. From the /par interface, navigate to Management -> Session Mgmt -> Archive Servers -> Select Archive Server -> Archived Files.
6. What kind of storage server (Windows/Linux (syslog) is required?
A. We normally recommend Linux/Unix platforms for this because of the built-in utilities, but this depends on your environment as a whole and available hardware, etc.
