API userid password retrieval question. (4349817)

We have more than one database and some of them use the same account name - how can TPAM handle that? Can it? Is there a best practice in this case?

Is it okay for the privilege safe account name to be different from the ID whose password the applications is retreiving?

They are on the same Data server, or the same instance of the DBMS , then yes this is possible.

Our appliance allows you to enter multiple systems and accounts per system all pointing to the same instance of the DBMS. Our system uses the login to the DBMS not the accounts in the database.

Note our system has a limitation for accounts. It is not case sensitive. Capital and lower case accounts of the same name are viewed the same.
