"Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation" when attempting to configure the Active Roles Web Interface (4333901)

When using the Active Roles Configuration Center to configure the Active Roles Web Interface, the operation fails.

The log file which is generated shows the following error:

The Active Roles Configuration Center connects to the Active Roles SQL configuration database directly using the security context of the User who is executing it. This User therefore requires SQL permissions in order to create an Active Roles Web Interface configuration.

The User must also be a member of the Active Roles Admin Group, as defined in the Configuration Center.

WORKAROUND 1

1. Grant the account being used db_owner on the Active Roles SQL configuration database
2. Grant the account being used membership to the Active Roles Admin Group

WORKAROUND 2

1. Execute the Active Roles Configuration Center using an account which already has the db_owner permission on the Active Roles SQL configuration database
2. Execute the Active Roles Configuration Center using an account which already has membership to the Active Roles Admin Group
