Each environment is different, and thus different configuration options may be required. The following is a very basic configuration scenario. We strongly suggest referring to the documentation for information on how to configure Defender components:
Defender Technical DocumentationFirstly, users that need to log on to these servers will need to have the standard "Log on Locally" permission and any other standard permissions (such as RDP permission) that are normally required to log onto servers.
Next, you will want to install the Defender Desktop Login component on each server. This modifies the Windows Login screen to prompt for Defender credentials. The installation of this is the same as it would be on user's workstations.
You will need to configure the properties of Desktop Login, either through the GINA Config settings on each server, or centrally through the Defender Group Policy object.
