Active Roles Synchronization Service or Quick Connect Merge Rule does not resolve mapped objects in a group's members (4336653)

When attempting to use a Merge Rule to sync the members attribute of a group in any connected system, the operation fails with one of the following errors (this is not a comprehensive list):

The context is not currently tracking the entity.

OR

Invalid value specified for object reference property  'objectId'

When using Merge rules, specifically, the Active Roles Synchronization Service does not resolve mapped object references in any multi-valued attribute, including a group's members.

This has been identified as a product defect and is being tracked as Defect ID 270758.
