Managing the IPMI with ipmitool -

This knowledge article shows useful commands to manage and get the status of the IPMI. -
原因
The ipmitool is installaed on the box by default and it can communicate with the IPMI directly.
The ipmitool can be used in the following situations:
- The web management interface of the IPMI is inaccessible.
- The network of IPMI is not configured.
- Troubleshooting

IPMI status
- Print System Event Log
ipmitool sel elist
- Print Sensor Data Repository entries and readings
ipmitool sdr
- Print Network configuration
ipmitool lan print 1
- Identify the machine
This will blink the UID LED for 15 seconds
ipmitool chassis identify
For an indefinite amount of time use
ipmitool chassis identify force
Turn it off with
ipmitool chassis identify 0

IPMI configuration
- Network configuration
ipmitool lan set 1 ipsrc static
ipmitool lan set 1 ipaddr IPADDR
ipmitool lan set 1 netmask NETMASK
ipmitool lan set 1 defgw ipaddr GW_IP_ADDRChange IP_ADDR, NETMASK and GW_IP_ADDR in the above commands accordingly.

Save the output for a support case
When a support engineer asks for the output any of these commands, add the following to the end of the command.
> /path/to/output_file
For example
ipmitool sel elist > /tmp/ipmi.log
