The Active Roles® SDK provides developers with documentation and samples to help them customize Active Roles by creating custom client applications and user interfaces, and implementing business rules based on running custom scripts (policy scripts). The Active Roles SDK serves as the main source of information that assists in customizing Active Roles in order to increase its flexibility and streamline the administrative workflow. -
Cause
You should use the Active Roles SDK because it provides a number of benefits:
- Offers basic concepts, and instructions for using the Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) Provider
- Explains how to develop, and implement policy scripts
- Provides real-life examples of policy scripts

Resolution
For Active Roles Server 6.9 and Earlier:
The Active Roles SDK can be found in the Windows Start Menu when installed with the Active Roles Server Administration Service.
Start | All Programs | Quest Software | Quest One Active Roles | SDK and Resource Kit
For Active Roles 7.x and Later:
The SDK for Active Roles 7.x is no longer contained within a stand-alone installer. It is included in the Management Tools component of the Active Roles installer.
The Active Roles SDK can be found in the following locations once installed with the Active Roles Server setup.exe:
C:\Program Files\One Identity\Active Roles\7.4\SDK
