You may have noticed that when sorting containers/OUs by the ‘Name’ column, via the WI or AR MMC, it isolates objects containing accented characters to the bottom of the list. Instead of listing the objects in the expected alphabetical order, as experienced natively (ADUC). See examples below:
This is by design. In ARS we compare strings with the default sorting methods provided by the API and then sort the names. The default sorting algorithm sorts the string in Lexicographical order in which accented characters comes in last (JavaScript compare method, Angular orderby method all work in a similar way).
An enhancement request (TF00792285) has been created detailing the feature: improve the AR sorting to match the native sorting behaviour (ADUC) of objects containing accented characters.
STATUS
The product team will evaluate the request and this feature may become available on a future release of the product.
