The SPML’s Web.config file is configured by default as Debug, no log files are being generated/created.
This is a product defect (TF00693980).
WORKAROUND
1) Navigate to the Web.config file:
C:\Program Files\Dell\Active Roles\7.0\SPML\Web
2) Go to the Nlog section in the file:
<!-- NLog configuration settings -->
<nlog autoReload="true" xmlns="http://www.nlog-project.org/schemas/NLog.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<variable name="commonLayout" value="${longdate} ${threadid} ${level} ${callsite} --> ${message} ${exception:format=tostring}"/>
<targets>
<target name="fileTarget" xsi:type="File" fileName="${basedir}spml.log" layout="${commonLayout}"/>
</targets>
<rules>
<logger name="ARS_SPML.*" writeTo="fileTarget" minlevel="Debug"/>
</rules>
</nlog>
3) Change the logger name from ARS_SPML. to ActiveRoles., i.e.:
<logger name="ActiveRoles.*" writeTo="fileTarget" minlevel="Debug"/>
