A SQL disk error may be experienced when performing a in-place upgrade to 7.4.4 when the SQL depends on additional mounting points for Storage space:
“Not enough disk space in configuration database server. Required space 20000Mb, Actual disk space: 464Mb.”
This is by design. During the installation process the installer requests the information if the used databases (AR Configuration and Management History DBs) are available on the DB server. If not, it attempts create them in the default data store. If the available space reported back from the SQL server is below 20GB the installation will fail, as the installer will not provide an alternate location for the SQL server at that time.
WORKAROUND
In these rare cases, the DBs will need to be pre-created via the New-ARDatabase cmdlet which can be found in the ActiverolesConfiguration powershell module.”
