If you have recently upgraded the Active Roles Server, and attempted to install the Active Roles Web Interface client on a remote machine. The Active Roles Web Interface works on the Active Roles Server; however it will not allow a remote client to connect or finish the installation.
The following error can be seen during the connection attempt:
Failed to connect to Administration Service on ARServer.Domain.com. The operation did not complete within the time allotted.
Or
Unable to retrieve Web Interface site configuration objects.
Confirm that the Windows Firewall is not enabled on the Client machine, or the Active Roles Server.
Note: Starting with Active Roles 7.0, only bi-directional connectivity on port 15172 is required between the Active Roles Administration Service and any Active Roles Client.
