Description
When attempting to browse to a Web Interface Site, the following error message is encountered:
Request is not available in this context
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more
information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Event code: 3005
Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred.
Exception type: NullReferenceException
Exception message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Request is not available in this context
Source Error:An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below. -
Cause
The Application Pool associated with this Web Interface Site has been incorrectly configured to use Integrated Managed Pipeline Mode. The default and necessary configuration is to use Classic Managed Pipeline Mode. -
Resolution
In Internet Information Services (IIS) Managed:
- Expand ServerName | Application Pools
- Double-click on the application pool which is associated with the Active Roles Server Web Interface (by default this is ARWebAppPool)
- Change Managed Pipeline Mode to Classic and click OK
- Stop and Start the application pool using the commands in the Action menu on the right-hand side
