"Only run scripts from trusted publishers" error noted when running any PowerShell script in Management Shell -
Description
When running any script in the Active Roles Management Shell, the follow error is encountered:
Do you want to run software from this untrusted publisher?
File C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Management Shell for AD\qsft.ps1 is published by CN="Quest Software, Inc.", OU=Digital ID Class 3 - Microsoft Software Validation v2, O="Quest Software, Inc.", L=Aliso Viejo, S=California, C=US and is not trusted on your system. Only run scripts from trusted publishers.

Cause
Security settings on the Windows host are set to only allow scripts from trusted publishers (AllSigned). -
Resolution
WORKAROUND 1
Explicitly add the certificate present on the file noted in the error message to the Trusted Publishers Certificate Store on the Local Machine.
- Browse to the file noted in the error message above. (ex. C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Management Shell for AD\qsft.ps1)
- Right click on the file and choose Properties | Digital Signatures
- Select the signature and click Details | View Certificate
- Choose the Details tab and click Copy to File...
- Save the file with a .CER extension.
- Using the Certificates MMC Snapin, import this file into the Trusted Publishers Certificate Store on the Local Machine.
WORKAROUND 2
In an elevated PowerShell, use the following command to set the execution policy to either RemoteSigned or Unrestricted:
Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned

Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
