"Collector is unable to find the Active Roles Administration Service." when running the 7.0 Collector against an older database -
Description
The Collector included with Active Roles 7.0 will not connect to an Active Roles instance or Active Roles database from an older version of Active Roles. The error message encountered will be Collector is unable to find the Active Roles Administration Service. -
Cause
This is expected functionality. The 7.0 Collector is only compatible with Active Roles 7.0. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
Use the Active Roles Configuration Center to import Management History from an older version of ActiveRoles Server into an Active Roles 7.0 Management History database, and then run the 7.0 Collector against this database.
