"No provisioning handler is installed." error encountered when attempting to create a Microsoft Exchange mailbox -
Description
While working with Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP3 and attempting to create a new mailbox through the Active Roles Console, the operation fails with the following error:
Exchange Server-related operation failed.
No provisioning handler is installed. -
Cause
Microsoft Exchange Management Tools installed on the Active Roles host have not been updated to the same service patch level as the target Microsoft Exchange servers. -
Resolution
Patch the Microsoft Exchange Management Tools to the same version as the target Microsoft Exchange Server.
Alternatively, modify Active Roles so that it leverages Remote PowerShell to connect to Microsoft Exchange.
