Low memory condition on the Active Roles Administration Service host when using the $context.O365ImportModules or $context.O365ImportModule methods in a custom Script Module -
Description
When using the $context.O365ImportModules or $context.O365ImportModule methods in a custom script module to import the Az.Accounts, Az.Resources, ExchangeOnlineManagement, and/or the Microsoft.Graph modules, the Active Roles Administration Service memory increases and never decreases, similar to a memory leak.
This may lead to a low memory condition on the Active Roles Administration Service host. -
Cause
Whenever the $context.O365ImportModules or $context.O365ImportModule methods are used, it is extremely import to also use the $context.O365RemoveAllModulesSessions() method to remove the loaded modules.
Defect ID 432381 has been created to update the sample script modules included with Active Roles to also include the $context.O365RemoveAllModulesSessions() method. -

A properly handled custom script module would look something like this:
