A Workflow Search activity that is targeting an Organizational Unit in a remote domain fails with the ERROR: "The user name or password is incorrect" -
Description
In a configuration where Active Roles is managing the local domain where the Active Roles Administration Service is installed as well as a remote domain, and a Workflow is used to perform a search in the remote domain, the Search activity in the Workflow will fail with the ERROR:
The user name or password is incorrect.
The Workflow search root is an sub-Organizational Unit or Container in the remote domain
The remote domain is not being managed using an account that is a member of the Domain Admins Active Directory Role Group. -
Cause
This issue is being tracked as Defect ID 466760. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND 1
Manage the remote domain using an account that is a member of the Domain Admins Active Directory Role Group.
WORKAROUND 2
Target the search in the remote domain at the root of the domain and not at a sub-Organizational Unit or Container.
STATUS
Waiting for fix in a future release of Active Roles. -
