The license import process has changed in Defender 5.8.x. The steps below will demonstrate how to import a license in this version. -
Lösung
In Defender 5.8.x and above, the license file will include a KEY and a SITE MESSAGE value. To import this license, you will need to navigate to the License screen and then copy and paste these values into the appropriate fields as shown below:
1. Select the License option from the "Defender" menu in Active Directory Users and Computers
2. Click the "Add License..." button and the paste the KEY and SITE MESSAGE values into the appropriate fields. Ensure there are no leading or trailing spaces when entering these values.
NOTE: The formatting of the license files is different in the 5.7 and 5.8/5.9 versions of Defender. If you do not have the correct type, you will need to request a new license from the Licensing department, or from your account representative. You can tell the difference by examining the contents of the files in Notepad. A 5.7 style license, will say "Quest Software" and will have an encrypted "DATA" string at the end.
3. Click "OK" once you have entered a valid License key and Site message.
4. Then click "Done" to close the "About" dialog window.
