How to move the Quick Connect database data from one SQL server to another SQL server using a new database

This method does not involve moving the physical database but instead moves the data contained within the database. This saves time as the database does not need to be copied over to the new SQL server. With this method we are just migrating the data instead.

Follow the steps below to move the current Quick Connect database data from one SQL server to another

1. Open the Quick Connect administration Console and click the gear in the top right hand corner
2. Select "Export Configuration..." and place the file in a easy to remember location
3. Click on the gear icon and select "Configure Sync Engine..."
4. Select "Create a new configuration"
5. Click the Next button
6. Input the new SQL server and database to be used
7. Click the Next button
8. Input a name for the confiugration profile
9. Click the finish button to complete the wizard
10. Close the Quick Connect administration Console
11. Restart the Quick Connect service
12. Open the Quick Connect administration console
13. Click on the gear icon and select "Import Configuration..."
14. Select the current Quick Connect Sync Engine version
15. Click the next button
16. Select the radio button for "I have the configuration file
17. Click the Browse button and locate the file that was created from step 2
18. Go through the steps and complete the wizard
