Which package should be used for installing on HPUX architecture?
There are two packages to choose from.
HPUX systems have two packages due to differences in architecture and versions.
It is recommended to use the install.sh script to ensure that the correct package is chosen for the system.
On HP PA-RISC systems install the package located in the \client\hpux-pa-11v3 directory
On HP Itanium systems, install the package located in the \client\hpux-ia64 directory
The list of options for install.sh can seen by running the following:
./install.sh --help
vasclnt is the core Safeguard for Authentication Services (SAS) package and vasgp is the group policy package.
No other packages are required unless there is a specific need.
Both vasclnt and vasgp will be installed simply by running ./install.sh.
If you only want to install the vasclnt it would look like this: ./install.sh vasclnt
If you are upgrading run: ./install.sh upgrade
This will upgrade all the SAS components that are already installed.
Of course as you can also use native OS package installers. Installing vasclnt with swinstall looks like this:
swinstall -s /<mount>/client/hpux-ia64/vasclnt_ia64-<version>-<build>.depot vasclnt
And for vasgp it looks like this:
swinstall -s /<mount>/client/hpux-ia64/vasgp_ia64-<version>-<build>.depot vasgp
