Testing was recently completed to confirm if TPAM is able to support the Oracle 12cR2 version.
A base install of Oracle 12cr2 running without any encryption modifications made to the standard install was used to test with. No protocol security or additional ports were setup, only port 1521. Using the default ORCL sid (default database install), and port (1521). Successfully managed a container user (C##FUNCACCT) with the functional account “SYSTEM”.
Configuration change required to make this work :
Populate the sqlnet.ora file on the Server with:
SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_SERVER=11 #(The default value here changed in 12cr2 to 12 from 11.)
After making this change,it was necessary to alter the password for the functional account to have the dba_users’ password_version column be updated to include 10G, on the default install it was set to 11G 12G. After performing the alter user with the changes made to sqlnet.ora, the column contained 10G as well.
To confirm compatibility with alternate configurations, or with additional security restrictions, it would necessary to understand how the instance and listener for port 8889 on that server is setup. Is there any type of encryption required such as TLS(SSL) and a minimum version set? Support for TLS connections is not supported in older versions, such as 2.5.915, but additional troubleshooting can be performed to narrow down the cause of any issues seen.
