When upgrading an Active Roles environment that utilizes SQL Replication, is it a requirement to break replication prior to performing the upgrade? -
Resolución
It is not necessary to break replication prior to upgrading as new databases are created as part of the upgrade. After the upgrade, SQL Replication will need to be reestablished, as the newly created databases will be in a standalone state.
The original databases and replication jobs are left intact should there be a need to roll back to the prior version. After the upgrade is completed and verified, the former databases and replication jobs can be manually cleaned up if required.
