The "Approval" activity in an Active Roles Change Workflow is being bypassed (4341118)

By default, an Approval activity is bypassed in two scenarios:

1. If the Initiator (the person performing the operation) is an Approver
2. If the Initiator is an Active Roles Admin

After creating the workflow, test the Approval using any Delegated Administrator that is not an Approver or an Active Roles Administrator. The account will need to be delegated the necessary permissions required to perform the operation which is expected to trigger the Change Workflow that contains the Approval.

It is also possible to set the Enforce Approval option on the Change Workflow so that the operation must be approved, no matter who the Initiator is. This option is not enabled by default.

To enable this option complete the following steps:

1. In the Active Roles Console, as an Active Roles Admin, navigate to Configuration | Policies | Workflow
2. Select the Change Workflow that contains the Approval
3. Expand the Workflow options and start conditions and click on Configure
4. Click on the Run as options in the bottom left of the screen
5. Check the Enforce Approval check box
6. Click OK
7. Click OK again
8. Click on Save Changes
