Descripción
DNS speed is slow and as a result authentication is slow. The /opt/quest/bin/vastool status command returns the following message:
WARNING: 617 dns speed, nslookup query on <$S> took <$D> seconds -
Causa
This indicates that DNS queries are taking longer than 1 second. This can be caused by high load on the local system, a DNS server that can not be reached in the list in the /etc/resolv.conf, or network problems. If this issue is unresolved it will result in slow authentications. -
Resolución
Contact your system administrators about high system load and to verify that the resolv.conf file is set up correctly.
Contact your DNS and network teams to investigate issues with the DNS servers and network that could be causing the delay.
