Error "Could not connect to database" when accessing database from remote Privilege Manager client -
Descripción
When attempting to access the Privilege Manager database for reporting, a Database Connection Error displays the message:
"Could not connect to the database."Additional error details state:
"A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server."
"The server was not found or was not accessible."
"Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections."
"(provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 28 - Server doesn't support requested protocol)". -
Causa
SQL Server protocols may not be configured to allow TCP/IP protocol, or other needed communication protocols. -
Resolución
Enable TCP/IP, or any additional protocols, firewall exceptions, or network connectivity needed in the environment to allow access to the SQL Server. -
