Unable to launch RDP session using the 'Start RDP Session' button in Chrome and Edge following the recent browser update.
"ERROR SyntaxError: Failed to set the 'href' property on 'Location'"
Custom protocol url is not properly handled.
WORKAROUND
1. Update the Chrome and Edge shortcut with flag "--disable-features=StandardCompliantNonSpecialSchemeURLParsing".
"C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=StandardCompliantNonSpecialSchemeURLParsing
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --disable-features=StandardCompliantNonSpecialSchemeURLParsing
Close all msedge.exe and chrome.exe processes in Task Manager before relaunching the browser to verify the behavior.
To ensure that StandardCompliantNonSpecialSchemeURLParsing has been disabled, check the Command Line via chrome://version/?show-variations-cmd for Chrome and edge://version/?show-variations-cmd for Microsoft Edge.
2. Use Firefox browser
3. Download .RDP file to launch the session
