What are the implications of deleting a Service Connection Point in Active Roles? (4221936)

Deleting a Service Connection Point will not impact Active Roles functionality. Service Connection Points are created every 10 minutes even when they are manually deleted. These Service Connection Points can remain if a previous Active Roles Server was de-commissioned.

To view Service Connection Points perform the following steps:

1. Open the Active Roles MMC Console
2. From the top menu select View | Mode | Raw Mode
3. Expand the Active Directory root | System | Aelita | Enterprise Directory Manager
4. Right-click a Service Connection Point, and select All Tasks | Advanced Properties | select the check box for Show all possible attributes
5. In the Look for property window type: keywords
6. Double click the entry to open it or select the View/Edit button the following is seen:

Last Updated.YEAR_MONTH_DAY_TIME

Delete any Service Connection Points that are no longer in use by verifying the Last Updated status. If the connection was still in use it will be re-created within 10 minutes. To generate the Service Connection Point immediately, restart the Active Roles Administration Service.
