Active Roles 7.4 includes functionality out-of-the-box to automatically create remote mailboxes when a user account is licensed for Exchange Online via an Active Roles client.
Active Roles 7.6 includes an on-demand trigger which will allow for the creation of a remote mailbox. Starting with Active Roles 7.6, writing a target address value to the edsvaMsExchEnableRemoteMailRoutingAddress attribute will trigger the Enable-RemoteMailbox cmdlet against an on-prem Microsoft Exchange server.

Active Roles 7.4 and later versions will execute the Enable-RemoteMailbox cmdlet against an on-prem Microsoft Exchange server for users who are licensed with a Exchange Online Azure license via an Active Roles client like the Active Roles Web Interface..Active Roles 7.6 includes an on-demand trigger which will allow for the creation of a remote mailbox. Starting with Active Roles 7.6, writing a target address value to the edsvaMsExchEnableRemoteMailRoutingAddress attribute will trigger the Enable-RemoteMailbox cmdlet against an on-prem Microsoft Exchange server. -
