Automatic software updating of version 7.0 to version 8.0.x only works smoothly if the service pack 7.0.3 is installed. In addition, the files VI.Update.dll and JobService.dll must be installed.
Automatic software updating of version 7.1 to version 8.0.x only works smoothly if the service pack 7.1.2 is installed. In addition, the files VI.Update.dll and JobService.dll must be installed.
Please note, the files are not required for or used in the upgrade migration itself.
In the past, automatic software updating for the frontends and jobservices was not guaranteed to work across major releases. These additional DLLs enable automatic software updating for frontends and jobservices from 7.0.3 and 7.1.2 and to 8.0.x.
The automatic software update also copies AppData directories to the new %localappdata%\One Identity subdirectory and registry entries to the new HKCU\Software\One Identity key and adjusts the deploy targets accordingly.

To install this hotfix:
1. Copy the DLL files in a directory of your choice on your workstation but not below the Identity Manager Installation path.
2. Start Software Loader and chose the DLL files. Follow the instructions in the next dialogs. This procedure requires automatic updates to be properly configured.

Removing this hotfix
To remove this hotfix:
1. Search for the DLL files from the Identity Manager Installation path and manually delete the files.
