In Identity Manager 9.3.x, the assembly NLog.Database.dll is no longer included in the installation package.
Customers who previously relied on this DLL for database logging will find that this DLL is missing and logging to the database cannot be configured out-of-the-box.
Due to legal/licensing reasons, One Identity can no longer distribute the NLog.Database.dll as part of the Identity Manager installation.
While the DLL was present in earlier releases (8.x and 9.2.x, following ER #36303), it was removed again starting with 9.3.x.
Customers who require database logging with NLog must obtain the assembly from the official NuGet repository and deploy it manually:
Download the DLL from the official NuGet package: https://www.nuget.org/packages/NLog.Database
Upload the DLL into the Identity Manager installation folder and load it into the database using SoftwareLoader.exe.
After this the AutoUpdate mechanism will distribute the DLL automatically to all affected Identity Manager installations.
If AutoUpdate is not enabled, copy the DLL manually into the Identity Manager root directory on each server (after loading it into the database with SoftwareLoader as well).
Update your nlog.config file - if required - to reference the new DLL.
By following these steps, the functionality of database logging with NLog can be restored in Identity Manager 9.3.x.
