Erorr: "Your password change operation has failed. Failed. 1787" when changing a WinAD users password -
Descrizione
Users that log into the TPAM appliance with a Active Directory user ID that has an expired password are prompted to change the password. Even though the old password, and new password are entered correctly TPAM display the below error:
"You password change operation has failed. Failed. 1787"
However, the users AD password is successfully changed. -
Causa
This issue occurs when the external authentication settings for WinAD config is set to a Domain Name (For example: yourdomain.com) rather than a specific Domain Controller FQDN or IP address (For example: dc.yourdomain.com) -
Risoluzione
Use a specific Domain Controller FQDN name or IP address when configuring WinAD config under /admin | External Authentication | WinAD Config | Server Address
