Error: "Account discovery failed on Asset with error: Invalid Name filter" (4251990)

When Account Discovery configured with the below options, an error occurs and account discovery fails:

1. Discovery Type: Directory
2. Find By: Name
3. Starts with or Contains field. If any of the following characters are located anywhere in the provided string: . - _

The following error shows when previewing Account Discovery:

Queuing task.
Starting task.
Discovering accounts on asset AssetName.
Account discovery failed on AssetName with error: Invalid Name filter.
Saving task results.
Task completed with failure.

WORKAROUND

Change the configuration to use the following:

1. Find By: Property Constraint
2. Name (regex) field. The following characters will work without issue if located in the provided string: . - _

The special characters that cause errors are:

1. Period .
2. Dash -
