Password Manager records two types of actions in the reporting database.
1) Activity Based Actions.
This is where the user does an action such as a password reset and this activity is logged to the database. The size of this depends on how often password resets are required, how often users update Q&A profiles or accounts are locked / unlocked etc. Each user activity adds less than 1 kb to the size of the database.
So for 10,000 users the doing 6 password resets per annum and registering 4 activities per reset the database would grow annually by
6 x 4 x 10,000 x 1 Kb = 240000 Kb = 234 Mb = 0.23 Gb
2) Scheduled Tasks.
a) Activities such as the Invitation, Reminder, Password expiration tasks are also recorded and write several records for each affected user.
Each record adds about 1.41 KB to the size of the database.
If each user receives an average of 4 reminders / notifications each time they change a password then that would add increase the size of the database by
4 x 6 x 10,000 x 1.41 Kb = 338,400 Kb = 330 Mb = 0.32 Gb
b) User Status Statistics (USS) scheduled task.
The amount of storage space required for the User Statistics Status (USS) report is dependent on the number of users and not how frequently the USS scheduled task is run since it does not record history but is instead a snapshot of who is registered or unregistered with PM at a given point in time. Each record requires about 1.41 Kb
Therefore the amount of space required for 10,000 users is
10,000 x 1.41KB = 14100 KB = 13.76 Mb = .014GB
Based on the assumptions above for 10,000 users the database would be expected to be about .56 Gb after year one and grow by about .55 Gb annually from there on depending on the frequency of password resets and the number of notifications sent to each user.
