Descrizione
When trying to access a mod_auth_vas protected Apache website, you receive and error: Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. -
Causa
This error is coming from Apache and not Mod-auth-vas. The error is due to the amount of Active Directory groups in a user's pac. -
Risoluzione
RESOLUTION 1:
1 - Increase request size in Apache by doing the following:
add directive LimitRequestFieldSize to the configuration file. Default value is 8190 bytes. To increase it 2 times add
LimitRequestFieldSize 163802 - Restart Apache
RESOLUTION 2:
1 - Reduce the number of groups the user is in.
