When running pmrun command, error appears stating errors in config file, contact local sys admin. (4295980)

Error(s) in config file.  Contact your local system administrator.
Request rejected by pmmasterd on servername.

CAUSE 1:

Policy configuration error

CAUSE 2:

Policy server has been unconfigured

RESOLUTION 1:

1 - View the policy revision list

/opt/quest/sbin/pmpolicy log

Note the dates when changes where made and when things stopped working

2 - Compare last known good policy with the non-working policy

/opt/quest/sbin/pmpolicy diff -r <#>:<#>

For example to compare revision 28 and 29 the command would be: /opt/quest/sbin/pmpolicy diff -r 28:29

3 - To revert back to known good policy

/opt/quest/sbin/pmpolicy log revert -r <#>

For example to revert back to revision 3 the command would be: /opt/quest/sbin/pmpolicy log revert -r 3

RESOLUTION 2:

1 - Check the status of the policy server:

/opt/quest/sbin/pmpolicy masterstatus

2 - To reconfigure policy server:

/opt/quest/sbin/pmsrvconfig -s <servername>
