When running the Control Center on Windows 2008 64 bit machines and the Group Policy tools are launched an error will likely be reported that the GPMC tools are missing.

Causa
There is no 64 bit version of GPMC available windows machines.

Risoluzione
The workaround for this issue is to launch the GPMC tools manually outside of the Control Center

Microsoft had stated that GPMC is out of band and there is no viable 64 bit candidate.
The GPMC does not run on 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows.

The OOB version of GPMC must be run on 32-bit platforms. The OOB version of GPMC is not supported on 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows. There are no plans to update the OOB version of GPMC to support 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows for Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). In 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and of Windows Server 2008. the 64-bit version of GPMC is supported. However, GPMC Reporting cannot be installed on all 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows. This version of GPMC is not part of any current Administration Tools package.
