Descrizione
Testing connection or performing check password to an Oracle asset configured in Safeguard returns the following message:
"ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor" OR"ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied" OR"Login failed for user:<username> because the username/password is incorrect or the case does not match." OR
"Login failed because the username/password is incorrect or the case does not match." -
Causa
The Oracle platform is case sensitive for the service account and managed account names. -
Risoluzione
- Identify the SERVICE_NAME from the tnnames.ora, enter this into the "Instance" field on the "Connection" tab on the Safeguard Asset.
- Ensure the service account is entered in the correct case for the Oracle user (ie. what is reported by select username from dba_users;). Typically, Oracle accounts are in UPPER case.
