Descrizione
When Syslog-ng PE is started it fails with the error "address is already in use". -
Causa
One or more port(s) which have been configured in the Sources section of the Syslog-ng configuration are experiencing a conflict.

Risoluzione
The same port can be used by another application running on the machine or there may be another source configured for the same port.
- Check if the indicated port in the error message is used by another process.
On linux, you can use 'netstat' or 'lsof' commands.
- If another program is using the same port.
Resolution 1 - Change the port(s) for the source(s) within the Syslog-ng PE configuration file so that the source(s) is/are not using a port in conflict.
Resolution 2 - Change the port(s) being used by the conflicting program as to not interfere with Syslog-ng PE.
Resolution 3 - Stop the program that is causing the port conflict and remove it from the same host running the Syslog-ng PE service.
- If no other application is listening on the port.
- Double check source configurations for conflicting ports.
- Consider using port() option even for default ports.
- Check if the indicated port in the error message is used by another process.
