If issues occur when requesting a "Resource Access" from IT Shop, what steps can be taken to troubleshoot?
1. Ensure that there is a Job Service configured for the "Server Function" "Data Governance". To verify:
a. Open "Designer" and select "Base Data" | "Job Server" from the Navigation menu.
b. Select the "Job Server" that should have the "Data Governance" server function.
c. Ensure that the Server Function "Data Governance Connector" is selected and enabled.
i. Without at least one job server configured with this function, the self service workflow for requesting access for resources won't work.
2. Ensure that, for the Job Server configured above:
a. The Job Service is running on a server.
b. The Service is running as an account that has an Employee (in Manager) that has the "Data Governance" application roles.
i. This is because the Job Service is going to talk to DGE in the request to ask "Please give me the correct group to fulfill the request".
ii. To ensure DGE Application Roles are assigned, open Manager, and select the task "Assign One Identity Manager application roles" for the Employee that is assigned to the Active Directory account that will run the Job Service.
3. Verify if the published resource is set to be looking at the "Share Security" or the "Folder Security". This can be verified by looking in Object Browser:
a. Open "Object Browser"
b. Select the table "QAMDuG"
c. Select the Object Resource in question
i. Verify "UseFolderForITShop" and "IsForITShop" is set to true.
ii. Check what "UseFolderForITShop" is set to. By default, this is set to True, and means that, for self service operations, the DGE Service will look at the folder security "Folder Permissions"
