Error "You are not allowed to generate events for table" in Sync Editor -
Description
When attempting to start a Synchronization from within the Synchronization Editor, the error "write permission denied for value [value] type". Enabling more verbose output using the blue arrow at the bottom of the popup reveals the error: "You are not allowed to generate events for table DPRProjectionStartInfo." -
Cause
This error, "You are not allowed to generate events for table", generally speaking, event generation requires edit permissions on a table and doesn't have it. -
Resolution
In the above error, the root cause was the Employee the AD Account was linked to, had the System Admin account replaced with a Sys Admin account that had Read Only permissions.
Updating the Employee to have a full Sys Admin account (for example, viadmin) resolved the errors.
