Object creation fails with the error: "The name reference is invalid." (4216377)

When trying to create user accounts using Active Roles Server (any client), the following error appears:

Failed to create the object 'CN=User Account,OU=Container, DC=Domain, DC=name'. The name reference is invalid. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800720B5).

A Distinguished Name value which is being passed in the creation cannot be resolved to an object.

Confirm that all DN values (such as Manager, Member Of, etc.) which are being passed during the object creation are in the correct format and that they resolve to an actual object.
