Updating the Service Account Credentials
The Active Roles Service Account credentials can be updated using two different methods. Both methods are acceptable and functionally the same.
Method 1: The Active Roles Configuration Center
- Launch the Active Roles Configuration Center.
- Select the Administration Service tab.
- Under the Service Account section, click Change.
- Update the credentials in the wizard.
- Service will restart automatically.
- Repeat on other ARS servers as necessary.
Method 2: The Windows Services Console
- Launch the services.msc console on the Active Roles server.
- Locate the Active Roles Administration Service service.
- Right click the service and select properties.
- On the Log On tab, update the credentials.
- Restart the Active Roles service.
- Repeat on other ARS servers as necessary.
Updating the Override Account Credentials
If an Override account is specified to access the Managed Domain, these credentials can be updated via the Active Roles Console:
- Launch the Active Roles Console using an Active Roles Admin Account.
- Expand the Configuration node.
- Expand the Server Configuration node.
- Click on the Managed Domains node.
- In the right pane, right click on the Managed Domain to be updated, and select Properties.
- In the General tab, update the credentials.
- A service restart is not required.
