Active Roles web allows the creation of multiple Entra groups with the same name.
Unlike the On-Prem Active Directory creation process there appears to be no built-in way to prevent group name re-use. -

An Enhancement Request 519638 has been created to allow for Active Roles to prevent duplicate Entra group names.
