Report Error:, "An error occured in the application. There was an error processing the report data."

When a report is run against a particular DSS, for specific dates, the following error is received: "An error occured in the application. There was an error processing the report data. Information regarding the error has been logged."

The DSS service has been restarted and so has the server itself.  What could cause this?

An undefined character in a username.

In order to pinpoint the issue, determine using the date picker options, what particular days generate the error.  Then search the logs for those days for any strange keyboard characters in usernames, or elsewhere.

If you remove the problem log does the issue still occur?

Or if you delete the entry from the log does the issue still occur?

Then confirm if such a character exists in AD for the user, and so on.
