Active Roles Administration Service failing on startup. (4227535)

The Active Roles Administration service fails within (5) minutes of starting up. Event IDs for 2501 and 2512 appear in the Active Roles Administration event log.

Event ID: 2501

               Critical error occurred upon starting Active Roles Administration Service.

               Details: Database 'ActiveRoles7Primary' on SQL Server ‘SQLSERVER' is unavailable.

               TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.



Event ID: 2512

               Connection to database has been lost.

              Active Roles Administration Service has lost connection to Configuration database. Administration Service is making attempts to connect to database.

               Details: Unspecified error

               Database: ActiveRoles7Primary

               SQL Server: SQLSERVER

              Next attempt to connect: In 15 minutes or later
 

The version of the SQL Client on the Active Roles server may be an older build and a newer build is needed. 

Older SQL Client on ARS Server known to have issue: 11.2.5058.0

Upgrade the SQL Client on the Active Roles server to 11.4.7001.0 or the latest SQL Client available for the supported version of SQL Server configured in Active Roles.
