The Syslogd process is restarted every time 'vgptool apply' runs when using the 'Replace' apply mode for the Syslog Group policy, even when no changes are made to the policy.
The 'Replace' apply mode is selected by ticking the 'Remove local configuration' option for the Syslog Group Policy.
Note:
If the default 'Merge' method is selected then the syslogd process will only restart if there have been any changes to the policy. -
