How to remove the domain\username, or username@domain from the login page (4309127)

If it is a requirement to remove the domain\username, or username@domain from the (PMUser, and PMSelfService) login page. This can be modified, or removed by following the workaround below.

This option is only available after selecting the Do not allow users to search for their accounts, and Users must enter their logon names for Identification on the Self-Service site here:

Open the PMAdmin site | General Settings | Search and Logon Options

WORKAROUND

NOTE: Making changes outside of Support may cause issues with the product. Please ensure you make a backup copy of this file prior to making changes.

1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\One Identity\Password Manager\Web\User\App_Data\LocalizationStorage\en-US
2. Copy the file User.xml to another location for a backup, such as the Desktop (Do NOT keep the copy in this folder as Password Manager as this may cause errors within IIS).
3. Open User.xml using Notepad or similar text editor
4. Search for the string domain\username
5. Change to the desired text or remove the text completely to retain just this string:
   To remove the text:
    <Resource Id="Action.Identification.PageTip.Login.HideDomains">
     <Value><![CDATA[]]></Value>
    </Resource>
   To change the text:
    <Resource Id="Action.Identification.PageTip.Login.HideDomains">
     <Value><![CDATA[This is the new text.]]></Value>
    </Resource>
6. Open a Command Prompt and run IISReset
7. Open a browser and login to the User Self Service portal again to confirm the changes
