The following commands in the Quest.Classification snapin can be used to manage categories. For information on using the Web Portal, see Working with Categories.

Add-QCategory | Add a category to your taxonomy. You need the ID of the parent category. |
Get-QChildCategories | See a list of the subcategories of a category. You need the ID of the parent category. |
Get-QParentCategory | Determine the parent category of a category. You need the category ID. |
Get-QCategoryByPath | View the properties of a category. You need to know the full path of the category. |
Get-QCategory | View the properties of a category. You need to know the category ID. |
Get-QResourceCategories | This command returns all categories associated with a specified resource on the specified host. |
Add-QRuleToCategory | Add a rule to a category. You must know the category ID and the rule ID. |
Remove-QRuleFromCategory | Remove a rule from a category. |
Remove-QCategory | Delete a category. You must know the category ID. |
Move-QCategory | Move a category within or between taxonomies. You must know the category ID and the ID of the new parent category. |
Set-QCategory | Change the properties of a category. You must know the category ID. |
Set-QPublishAllForCategory | Publish all categories at once. |
Set-QRuleToCategory | Update the rule weight for a category. |

Add-QXmlRule | Add a new XML rule to the system. You must know the location of the XML file. |
Remove-QXmlRule | Remove an XML rule from the system. You must know the category ID and the rule ID. |
Get-QXmlRule | View the properties of an XML rule in the system. You must know the rule ID. |
Get-QXmlRules | View a list of all XML rules in the system, or get the ID of a rule. |
Set-QXmlRule | Change the properties of an XML rule in the system. You must know the rule ID. |

Confirm-QTextExtractor | Test the validity of a text extractor. (Note: This tests whether the text extractor can be processed by the classification system.) If the text extractor is not valid, it will not be available for use with the classification system. |
Get-QAdvancedTextExtractors | View the list of all advanced text extractors and their general properties (including IDs) used in the system. |
Get-QDictionaryTerms | View the terms associated for a given dictionary text extractor. |
Get-QDictionaryTextExtractors | View the list of all dictionary text extractors and their general properties (including IDs) used in the system. |

Get-QRulesAssociatedWithTextExtractor | View the list of rules that have been associated with a given text extractor. You must know the extractor ID. |
New-QDictionaryTerm | Create a new dictionary term. |
Remove-QTextExtractor | Remove a text extractor from the system. You must know the text extractor ID. Note: Before you can remove a text extractor from the system, you must remove any associations to rules. You can see which rules are associated with each text extractor and remove them through the web portal. |
Set-QAdavncedTextExtractor | Edit the advanced text extractor properties. You must know the text extractor ID. |
Set-QDictionaryTextExtractor | Edit the dictionary text extractor properties. You must know the text extractor ID. |
Set-QDictionaryTerms | Update the terms included in a dictionary text extractor. |
